Perry Perlmutar is a Toronto-based stand-up comedian with a strong background in sketch and improv. His stand-up material covers a whole range of topics: from his former day job, working as an English Second Language teacher, to being a single-dad, to his experience as a Jewish man formerly married to a Muslim woman. His unique perspective and hilarious stories make his stand-up material memorable and original. His extreme likeability on stage has made him a favourite in comedy clubs around Toronto.
In a busy 2013, Perlmutar performed on his first Gala at the prestigious Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal to be aired on CTV and The Comedy Network. That same year he was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for his Comedy Now! stand-up special, which aired on CTV and The Comedy Network. Also in 2013 he performed in The Hubcap Comedy Festival in Moncton.
Perlmutar has also appeared at a Winnipeg Comedy Festival Gala which later aired on CBC television and radio, the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal and Toronto, the LOL Sudbury Comedy Festival, the Niagara Falls Comedy Fest and The Ha!ifax ComedyFest.
He toured across Canada in 2008 and 2009 opening for Jeremy Hotz in What a Miserable Tour This Is.
